Weekend Read 4 February 2023

Weekend Read 4 February 2023

Into February we go and I want to open this Weekend Read by talking about energy and acceptance.  Acceptance is a big one and we so often get stuck in our own negative thought processes which does of course affect our health and wellbeing.  Writing from experience, as I so often do, I think it is far healthier to accept than deny.  And I also think it is far healthier to talk about these issues rather than ignore them or pretend we are not affected by the turbulence within ourselves, so often caused by external circumstances.  And people.

Quoting Einstein: ‘Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it.  Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.  It can be no other way.  This is not philosophy.  This is physics’.  If we are to accept those words, then surely it follows that we are often held back because we get stuck in negative patterning, which we can hold onto for the longest time, often since childhood, as our brains revert to old patterns of trauma, fear and habits.  This is totally normal, but if we were to change our frequency, which is of course a process, then we are given the opportunity to change and liberate our own lives, and this has been clinically proven.

Making a positive difference to each of our lives is no small thing, which is why I write about, and endorse, Rapid Tapping frequently.  In and of itself that frequency creates a different reality for so many of us, a changed reality and that’s what really matters here, so at this point I would like to thank Poppy Delbridge once again for gifting us with her insights last Sunday evening.  This workshop, which led to a tap, lasted just under 1.5 hours, and I’m linking that session below in case you missed it, but it will only be available across this weekend, so catch it if you can.  With an open mind and a loving heart.

And into the product section we go and as night follows day, I think there is an inevitable acceptance that having written about Ionicell last weekend, I would follow through with an offer on Fulvic Acid Elixir this weekend.  They are one of the same, the only difference being that Fulvic Elixir is the liquid version of Ionicell, which many of you prefer.  And I prefer to take both, although of course I am not expecting you to do the same, it’s just that I’ve taken liquid Fulvic for the longest time, probably about fifteen years, and I often multi-task and use it as a wound-healing topical treatment, and every so often I have a Fulvic bath.  But that’s another story.

I think that one of the most important components of Fulvic Elixir is that it helps combat nutrient deficiencies by enhancing the absorption of vitamins and minerals in our body, which in turn helps to increase the efficacy of other supplements.  Often termed as nature’s miracle molecule, Fulvic Acid is so powerful that one single Fulvic Acid molecule is capable of carrying in excess of 65 minerals and trace elements directly into our cells.  And because I like quotes rather a lot, this from Dr Linus Pauling, winner of two Nobel Prizes: ‘You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment, ultimately to a mineral deficiency’.  And that speaks volumes.

So, a remarkable compound, yes it is and it is powered by Ioniplex, a Fulvic ionic mineral, which has been the subject of a White Paper, linked below.  After writing last week that I take Ionicell, Hyaluronic Acid, L-Ergothioneine and Digest Complete, I just want to say here that I have always thought of Fulvic Elixir as a foundation supplement, and given its efficacy in increasing the efficacy of the other supplements I take, I’m not sure that I will ever stop taking it.  And here’s a thought, Fulvic increasing the effectiveness of Fulvic.  We’ll be bouncing, so with every bottle of Fulvic Acid Elixir (480 ml), we will automatically include another 240 ml, which is worth £15.  And in order to be equitable, there is only one gift per customer.
VH Editorial: Fulvic Acid: The Elixir of Life; Ioniplex White Paper; Fulvic Acid Elixir 480 ml + Fulvic Elixir 240 ml Free £30 (Whilst stock lasts and if the 240 ml free gift does not go into your basket, this will mean the offer is over)

Following through, I absolutely know that Fulvic has dramatically changed the health of my hair and scalp, well I have been taking it long enough, but many of you also take Superior Hair. Together they help protect the health of the scalp, encouraging new hair growth and nourishing hair follicles, all aimed at helping to prevent hair loss and thinning hair.  And it’s a huge concern, most especially because stress is so often the cause of hair loss, as is menopausal hair loss.

After my words of last week where I stated that we should allow approximately 28 days for a supplement to kick in, Superior Hair is an exception to that statement as it takes far longer than 28 days to kick in.  It can take up to six months, or longer, to begin to have an effect so we have to manage expectations, most especially because hair loss is such an emotive subject.  With that understanding and because I know that you need to take Superior Hair on an ongoing basis, I am taking the price of Superior Hair down from £30 to £26.  And you don’t have to take it with Fulvic, it can be used as a stand-alone supplement.

I am now going to do a brand focus and that brand is Wild Nutrition.  I often write that not all supplements are created equally, most especially because the vast majority of supplements are formulated using synthetic nutrients, which do little, if anything, in terms of efficacy.  It goes without saying that the cost of supplementation varies enormously and although there is a choice to make, our choice has always been to recommend food-state nutrients over and above all else.  Food-state nutrients allow far greater absorption, and yes, natural nutrients are more expensive than synthetics, but efficacy is key and there is a difference.  A rather big difference.

I am totally with Wild Nutrition when they state that many of the supplements today are compressed white powders which often contain mega-doses of synthetic or isolated ingredients, in addition to preservatives, colourants, fillers and binding agents.  These high-dose products reach the gut in a form that leaves the body less capable of absorbing them.  Ultimately a significant proportion is excreted out, without ever being metabolised.  Mercy, mercy, let’s lay down the facts.  And the truth.  Without naming names.

So there we have it, and all that is left is for me to tell you that the bestselling product from Wild Nutrition is KSM-66 Ashwagandha Plus, a powerful blend of Ashwagandha and Food-Grown Magnesium. This rejuvenating tonic helps to reduce stress and anxiety, enhancing mental wellbeing and hormonal balance.  Additionally, you may like to know that Wild Nutrition have just launched some new products, including Food-Grown Energy Support, and these are all linked below.  And in support of Food-Grown supplementation, we will drop in Wild Nutrition’s Food-Grown Zinc Plus which is worth £12.50 with each order placed for any of the Wild Nutrition supplements.
Wild Nutrition (offer ends at midnight GMT, Sunday 5 February and only one gift per customer)

Right, that’s the brand focus done so let’s roll into the ingredient focus and today we are going to look at Broccoli Seeds.  Broccoli belongs to the Brassica family, commonly known as cruciferous vegetables.  Broccoli florets, Broccoli Sprouts and Broccoli Seeds contain a compound called Sulforaphane, which is considered to be one of the most important phytonutrients to have been discovered over the past thirty years.  A researcher at John Hopkins, Paul Talalay, first realised Sulforaphane’s benefits in 1992 and since that time there have been over 1700 studies indicating the benefits of Sulforaphane across a wide range of diseases and concerns.

I am not going to cover all of these concerns, I’ll allow Shabir to do that in his article linked below, but Sulforaphane is really good for the brain and it is considered to be a Nootropic, meaning that it helps protect the brain and enhances brain function without any side effects.  Other studies have indicated that it increases nerve growth, indicating that it can help repair damage caused to the nerves, due to injury or ageing.

However, the highest volume of studies has been carried out across cell mutation and the growth of healthy cells, and with research ongoing it is thought that Sulforaphane also has the ability to maintain healthy blood sugar levels and inhibits Helicobacter pylori from flourishing.  Aside from linking you to the article, I will tell you that Shabir recommends BroccoMax because it contains a Super Critical Extraction of Broccoli Seeds to ensure that only the beneficial compounds are present in the final supplement.  And because that matters, I am dropping the price of BroccoMax down from £24 to £21 across the weekend.
VH Editorial: Broccoli Seeds And Their Health Benefits; BroccoMax by Jarrow Formulas £21 for 60 Capsules

Last weekend I wrote about Digest Complete by Enzymedica, a specific blend of eleven enzymes and that four specific of those enzymes, known as Thera-blend enzymes, have been shown to be three times stronger and six times faster than other leading enzyme supplements.  I also wrote that Shabir advised me to change the digestive enzyme supplement I was taking to Digest Complete, and because so many of us did change over, I am linking another article below to demonstrate the importance of digestive enzymes, which naturally occur in our body.  And I’ve also held the price reduction, so it’s down from £28.88 to £25.  And because Mega Probiotic is also mentioned in this article, I’ll take the price down from £22 to £18 for those who missed it last time, or anybody else for that matter.

Moving on, l have a Temple Spa treat for you.  Actually, I have a treat and a new product to tell you about, so let’s begin with the February offer and the product in the spotlight is Exalt Firming Neck Gel.  Exalt is an anti-ageing cream-gel formulated to help lock in moisture thereby helping to prevent trans-epidermal water loss.  Containing regenerative Olive Oil, Exalt is another one of those bestselling products from Temple Spa and for the month of February the price drops from £44 to £30, which is a saving of £14.  I have nothing to add really, except to say that it performs exceptionally well when used in conjunction with The Sculptor.  Rock and roll.
Exalt Firming Neck Gel by Temple Spa £30 for 50 grams; The Sculptor by Temple Spa £30 (offer ends at midnight GMT, Tuesday 28 February)

And the new product, well Temple Spa describe it as a calming and sensual bath soak and it’s called Serenita.  Serenita is a Limited Edition product and if you loved Restitude, another Limited Edition product, I think you are going to love this too.  Loaded with warming and comforting Mediterranean essential oils, including Neroli, Patchouli and Myrrh, its fragrance is divine and it will bubble-up if you drizzle it under a running tap or alternatively you can rub it into your body and then step into a bath, which I think is the best way to use bath oils.  Anyway, that’s just my opinion.
Serenita by Temple Spa £20 for 300 ml (Limited Edition)

We are obviously in beauty treat territory, although quite honesty when it comes to skincare, I really do consider it comes under the heading of health because we are talking about the health of our skin.  I absolutely know that is in the forefront of Shabir’s mind whenever he formulates skincare products and although I will tease him outrageously at times, I do so with an affectionate respect, most especially when he formulates skincare products for himself.  Anti-Aging MultiPeptide Serum is one such product.  And I really don’t want to start singing ‘You’re So Vain’, but it’s now stuck in my head.  Probably forever.

Back to it and Anti-Aging MultiPeptide Serum works exceptionally hard to help quench and plump skin and I suppose in some way it is the topical partner to Hyaluronic Acid Capsules.  It is extraordinarily potent, Shabir made sure of that, and it contains some of the leading technologies for skin health, including SYN-COLL, Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) and Argireline, which contains the peptide Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, known to help limit the formation of expression lines.  Anti-Aging MultiPeptide Serum is free from alcohol and silicones and whilst stock lasts, I am offering you the opportunity to buy the oversized version, which means you will receive 45 ml for the price of 30 ml.

Updates. Let’s do the cross-brand limited edition offer on the Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt + Fulvic Body Lotion first.  And that’s the thing, it was a limited edition offer, but because the demand was so high, I let it roll into pre-order status at some point on Saturday, but I had to stop the offer because I was unaware of the further availability of the Dermasuri Mitt.  Being the weekend, I had to make that decision, which is always difficult, but better safe than sorry.  So, feeling somewhat safer than I did last weekend, I am going to repeat the offer for those who have ‘crocodile legs’ and get excited about removing dead skin cells, but missed the offer.
Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt + Fulvic Body Lotion (200 ml) £22 (Value £34.99 and whilst stocks last)

The second update is that I bequeathed hero status on Magnesium Soap and Silversocks last weekend.  So, although I said I would probably give both of them an award at the end of the year, it is far too long to wait and I may forget.  So, I’ve made up a new rule, I will hero out a product at the end of each month, and because I can’t separate them, two awards for January.  Magnesium Soap wins the Soap of the Month Award and Silversocks wins the Sock of the Month Award.  VH Awards of course.  Declared by me, decided by you.  Based on fact.  Not fiction.
Silversocks Black (Size 3-7) £9.99; Silversocks Black (size 6-11) £9.99; Magnesium Soap by Life-Flo £5.25 for 121 grams

One more product to go and who knows this may reach hero status for the month of February, and that product is a candle.  Neom’s Cosy Nights Scented Candle (Travel) is a rich blend of essential oils, including Sandalwood, Frankincense and Nutmeg.  Its fragrance was blended to help you relax with the memories of snuggling by an open fire on a cosy, winter night.  And because it’s February, which is probably the bleakest month of the year, let’s bring some light into our lives as I take down the price of the Cosy Nights Scented Candle from £18 to £10, whilst stock lasts.
Cosy Nights Scented Candle (Travel) by Neom Organics £10 for 75 grams (20 Hour Burn Time)

Into the Saturday only treat we go, and we go into it with a twist.  With every order placed for £30 and above, excluding p&p, we will automatically send you a Healing Patch* created by Ross J. Barr.  The Healing Patch is a convenient, effective and natural way to help ease aches and pains, including menstrual pain.  And here comes the twist. Aside from the Saturday only treat, I am taking the price down of the Healing Patches, the Calm Patches and the Sleep Patches from £15 to £12.50, across the weekend, with the offer ending at midnight GMT, Sunday 5 February.
Healing Patches £12.50 for Five Patches; Calm Patches £12.50 for Ten Patches; Sleep Patches £12.50 for Ten Patches all by Ross J. Barr

At the top of this Weekend Read, I wrote about having an open mind and a loving heart.  Life throws many different things at us and our lives can change dramatically, often without warning.  We each have different coping mechanisms and so very often we are unable to cope and that is perfectly understandable to so many of us.  Yet, there are still those who choose to dismiss the very notion of mental health and although that is their choice, I struggle to understand how writing about mental health issues can ever be a negative thing.  So, with an open mind and a loving heart, let me just say this.  Walk a mile in my shoes.  And make that plural.
