Weekend Read 13 January 2024

Weekend Read 13 January 2024

Life can be an emotional roller-coaster, and as I welcome you to the second Weekend Read of the year, I will just say that my emotions were truly on the line last weekend.  It wasn’t only because we launched DoSe, which I will talk about in a moment, but it was my emotional response to your emotional response after so many of you read the words of The Goose Formation, which I shared at the end of the first Weekend Read of the year, so please let me say this.

It was a deliberate sharing and it was deliberate because all things in life have an energy and The Goose Formation makes a profound and far-reaching statement about the constancy of a shared vision, a vision that has spanned more than two decades.  We can’t always fly point, I know that to be true, but what we can do is to continue to fly in formation in an often challenging and difficult world.

The Goose Formation and DoSe dictate the correlation of intent and purpose, establishing and demonstrating the discernment of our relationships, allowing an infinite and safe journey of discovery with each other.  It is on that journey of discovery that we uphold our independence, independence of thought and difference in the way we share our lives with each other, which in and of itself allows a compassionate exploration of life itself, which I will be touching on throughout the year.

For me, it has never just been about the products, it has to be far more than that, but of course it is the products that allow us to achieve optimum levels of health and wellbeing and this is where I want to thank you for supporting the launch of the first DoSe product.  If we were to set the tone for the year, then we have certainly achieved that with Liposomal Vitamin C, an exacting solution of pioneering excellence which raises the bar of ingredient integrity, the foundations of which are heavily steeped in decades of research, studies and clinicals.
DoSe Liposomal Vitamin C £35 for 240 ml

Staying with ingredient integrity, Fulvic Acid is an outstanding example of a nutrient which makes a positive difference to so many of our lives.  For clarification, each of the Fulvic products will remain under the Ful.Vic.Health branding retaining its own innate identity, standing alongside DoSe, yet allowing the integration of alchemy which will become apparent in the coming weeks and months. The script has been written.

And each of you could write the script about where I am going next, and I’m going there because Fulvic is often termed as nature’s miracle molecule, which I believe is an accurate description of a nutrient which offers and provides cellular protection, promoting cellular energy for the rapid absorption of vitamins.  Fulvic Elixir has the capability of carrying over 65 minerals and trace elements directly to the cells of our body, enhancing our immunity and, in the words of Dr Linus Pauling, you can trace every sickness, every disease and every ailment, ultimately to a mineral deficiency.

I believe that Fulvic is not only a miracle molecule, but an essential molecule and because of my rock solid belief in all things Fulvic, I take Fulvic Elixir every single day of my life.  If you are doing the same then this is a happy moment because if you buy Fulvic Elixir (480 ml) across this weekend, we will automatically include Fulvic Elixir (240 ml) as a gift, which is worth £15.  And for those who are not doing the same, an invitation to explore the considerable benefits of Fulvic.
VH Editorial: Fulvic Acid: The Elixir Of Life; Fulvic Elixir £30 for 480 ml + Fulvic Elixir 240 ml Free Worth £15 (offer ends at midnight GMT, Sunday 14 January and only one gift per customer)

If I am to continue writing about essential supplementation, then I have to include NAD+ Generator in that category.  In time, NAD+ Generator will of course carry the DoSe branding, but I want to talk about NAD+ Generator because there is much confusion about longevity supplementation, with conflicting views and opinions expressed in any number of articles, many of which are wholly inaccurate, if not misleading.  So let’s take a look.

NAD (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is the second most abundant molecule in the body after water.  It governs hundreds of enzymatic reactions and processes in the body.  It protects our genetic material and is also of value in protecting against the shortening of telomeres (genetic DNA), which is one of the most accepted theories of ageing.  Crucially, NAD provides energy for all the cells in the body to repair, regenerate and perform their roles and a good example of this is collagen synthesis, as it is the fibroblasts in our body that manufacture collagen.

It is a given that as we age we produce less collagen and there are two main reasons for this, the first is the decline in the amount of collagen producing cells and the second is that our collagen producing cells do not get sufficient NAD in order to provide them with the energy required to manufacture collagen.  I have used collagen synthesis as an example, but the fundamental fact is that NAD is required to provide energy for all of the cells of our body, as mentioned above.

As a compound, NAD+ raises NAD levels, but NAD supplementation will not increase NAD levels by any notable amount because NAD is very unstable and readily deactivated.  In formulating NAD+ Generator, it was crucially important to use a patented extract that had been clinically proven to raise NAD levels and that extract was RiaGev, which has also been shown to out-perform Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) and Nicotinamide Ribose (NR).  I suppose the icing on the cake will be when NAD+ Generator carries the DoSe branding, but for now I am dropping the price of NAD+ Generator from £32 to £29.  The icing will come later.

I am in mode, and I am going to stay in mode because there are so many viral infections floating around at the moment, so with a helping hand, I am dropping the price of Triple Flu Defense+ from £30 to £25, most especially because the months of January and February are notorious for the onset of colds and flu and Triple Flu Defense+ helps combat infective viruses and also helps relieve the symptoms of flu and colds.  Triple Flu can also be used in a maintenance dosage to help protect the immune system and this could be rather a good idea in the absence of Daily Immunity, which is currently out of stock until February, for which I can only apologise.
Triple Flu Defense+ (2023-2024) £25 for 30 ml

And as one thing leads to another, now would be a good time to talk about nasal decongestants, so I would like to throw the focus on Sinol-D Decongestant Nasal Spray.  Formulated with a blend of Eucalyptus, Aloe Vera and Sea Salt, Sinol-D helps to ease breathing by breaking down mucus and also helping to reduce irritation.  With daily use Sinol-D helps clear congestion, headaches and sinus pain and the good thing here is that it can be used long-term, unlike antihistamine nasal sprays which can dry out the nasal passages.  Shabir does the lowdown on Sinol-D, and more, in his article linked below.

I normally talk about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) in February, mostly because February tends to be the bleakest month of the year, but we’re going to talk about it now because the weather is so dark and miserable that I think it’s important to do so. It is thought that SAD affects over 500,000 people in the UK, it is a recognised disorder and the symptoms are very similar to those suffering from anxiety and depression, which include low mood, sleep disturbances and a lack of motivation.

There are varying degrees of SAD and the milder form of SAD is often referred to as the ‘winter blues’, but if your symptoms are severe, then we suggest that you seek professional advice.  For those with a milder form of SAD, Magnolia Rhodiola Complex could be of great benefit.  It is our bestselling supplement for stress and anxiety and it contains a potent extract of Magnolia which works to physically relax muscles, helping to alleviate nervousness and some of the symptoms of anxiety and low mood.  Leaving Shabir to do the rest of the talking in his article on SAD linked below, I am dropping the price of Magnolia Rhodiola Complex to £25 from £28.

If I may, I would like to take a moment here to talk about independence, but primarily the importance of independent niche brands.  I write about this a lot, but independence is my passion and so I am having a bit of a podium moment.  The health and beauty industry has changed so very much across the years and we have reached a point where the vast majority of health and beauty brands are owned by the conglomerates, and that includes health and beauty retailers.  There are very few of us left who are truly independent and in saying that, I am talking about independence from outside investment, be that private equity or otherwise.

If we are to fund our own vision, which we absolutely do, then it is important to consistently recognise the brands whose vision aligns with our own.  In so doing, independent brands do not have the resources or the reach of the conglomerates, yet we each have a voice and I believe we must use that voice to support and recognise the pioneering spirit of independence and the efficacy and brilliance of cutting-edge products which, as I wrote last weekend, are so often light years ahead of anything else.

I could be talking here about any of the independent brands we list on our site, but I specifically want to mention Peep Club and their Eye Rescue Lidstick, which we launched at the end of last year.  Right now, I don’t feel the need to say much about the product because I have written many words about the Lidstick, but what I do want to say is that the Lidstick goes in and out of stock and it does so because Peep Club are funding their own vision and with limited resources, they are doing their very best to keep it in stock, so please bear with.  And if I am to say something about the product, let me say that I think I have found eye-product-nirvana.  The search was long.
Eye Rescue Lidstick by Peep Club £15 for 2.2 grams (currently in stock)

Right, let’s carry on and we’ll carry on by talking about heroic products, because I think that each of these two small products are pretty heroic.  Lysine Lip Balm comes first, basically because we believe it is the very best lip balm for the treatment of cold sores, although you don’t have to have cold sores to benefit from its brilliance, it works wonders on dry and chapped lips too.  Zam-Buk Antiseptic Ointment comes second, not only because it has been around since 1903, but because it helps to heal cuts, sores, bruises, burns and chilblains and there is something rather evocative about the tin, which triggers nostalgic memories of product wisdom from another era.
Lysine Lip Balm by Good Health Naturally £5.95 for 5 grams; Zam-Buk Antiseptic Ointment £3.99 for 20 grams

A haircare treat now, this treat comes from Curly Ellie and it goes like this.  If you buy any of the Curly Ellie products, we will automatically include Curly Ellie’s Intensive Treatment Mask (50 ml) with your order.  This treatment mask works to hydrate, nourish and repair hair, reducing frizz and helping to restore shine and bounce.  It is suitable for dry, damaged or coloured hair and as this is a limited edition offer, there is only one gift per customer, whilst stock lasts.  If the mask fails to go into your basket, that means that the offer is over.

Full Fulvic, well nearly full Fulvic.  As above, so below, which translated means that when you buy Fulvic Face Cream (60 ml), we will automatically send you Fulvic Face Cream (30 ml) free, which is worth £15.  Perfect symmetry.
Fulvic Face Cream £30 for 60 ml + Fulvic Face Cream 30 ml Free Worth £15 (offer ends at midnight GMT, Sunday 14 January)

And into the Saturday only treat we go, and with every order placed for £35 and above, excluding p&p, we will automatically send you Faith In Nature’s Lavender & Geranium Body Wash (100 ml).  Full product details listed below.

I have said quite a lot on this newsletter, so let me just refer back to my opening paragraphs where I was talking about our emotions.  I have always believed in the ethos of sharing and belonging and one of the reasons why I was so emotional last weekend was because so many of you feel so alone and the words of The Goose Formation brought a sense of calm and comfort.  The other thing to say here is that many of us can feel alone even if we are in a relationship, or we are surrounded by people.  You don’t have to physically be alone, to feel alone.

And, as I was reading your words, this song came into my head, so I am sharing it with each of you now.  We walk together.
How Can I Tell You by Yusuf/Cat Stevens; The VH Playlist

Warmest love
