Weekend Read 25 November 2023
Hello and good morning and with all of our Black Friday offers ending at midnight GMT tomorrow, Sunday 26 November, I will be writing about our remaining offers today and I will also recap on the offers we released this week in case you missed them. But before I do any of that, I would like to talk about the Eye Rescue Lidstick from Peep Club, which we launched two weeks ago.
I was completely overwhelmed by your response, so much so that by 11 am on that Saturday morning we had completely sold out of the LidStick and we had to put a wait list message on our site. I truly thought we had it covered, but we didn’t and for that I apologise, but as I am writing this, we are back in stock for which I am thankful. I am also thankful, and grateful, for the dedicated research and development carried out by Peep Club and their Board of Ophthalmologists. We are not talking about a beauty product here, we are talking about a health product and the health of our eyes is of crucial importance.
I have written this often, I don’t like eye products and I don’t use them, but my view differs from Shabir’s. He loves eye products and if he was only allowed to have one skincare product, I know it would be an eye serum. With that said, I have made an exception because I do use the Eye Rescue Lidstick and I totally love it. I love it because I sit in front of my computer screen morning, noon and night, and although we recommend using the Lidstick in the evening, I use it in the morning too because I care about my eyes and anything that helps prevent my eyelids from creasing is good with me. I don’t think I want to do creased eyelids. Ever.
There is another factor here, and perhaps this is the most important factor. The Eye Rescue Lidstick is completely safe to use around the fragile eye area, and so many eye products aren’t. I feel another campaign coming on around this whole subject, so all I will say at this point is that I am totally on it with Nicola and Natasha, the co-founders of Peep Club, and we will do whatever we have to do to ensure that we keep our eyes safe, away from harm. It’s how we roll and we will continue rolling. On a mission. A truth mission.
Eye Rescue Lidstick by Peep Club £15 for 2.2 grams; Starter Dry Eye Kit (Heated Eye Wand PRO + Eye Rescue Lidstick) £80; (Heated Eye Wand PRO Nickel Free + Eye Rescue Lidstick) £80
And if I am on a mission, a rolling mission, then I have to start this section with iS Clinical. I am forever writing about niche brands and although iS Clinical is now one of the top three cosmeceutical brands in the world, to me they are still a niche brand. We launched iS Clinical over twenty years ago and the love, the trust, the integrity and the respect remains as it ever was, and that speaks volumes. Over the years I have written many words about Bryan Johns and Alec Call, the co-founders, and I could easily write many more, but let me say that the three of us have never forgotten those early days when we were struggling to be heard.
We still talk about those early days, but whatever the struggles, we made it through because we had absolute belief and trust in the work we were doing together, and we still hold that trust and belief. As a testament to iS Clinical’s pioneering formulations, Active Serum, which was launched over twenty years ago, remains a hero product. Of course, it has been joined by many other heroes, but this multi-purpose formulation, which was designed to generate rapid and dramatic improvements in overall skin quality, was far ahead of its time. And over the years it has been endorsed by leading physicians and experts as it continues to deliver significant results.
I have always maintained that iS Clinical is one of the most important brands to emerge in the field of skincare, and I know I will stand by that statement for the rest of my life. Biased, yes of course I am, but I am biased because in its genre, nothing comes close, truly nothing. Of course, I know the brand inside out and I also know that practically every day of the week the boys receive an offer to buy their brand, but I also know that they are not interested in selling, well not in the foreseeable future, because they have dedicated their lives to helping to make a difference, a difference that includes their extensive philanthropic work with cancer patients.
And all of this leads me to tell you that this weekend, we are offering a 20% discount across iS Clinical. For those who use iS Clinical you will have your favourite products, so let me tell you mine. Sheald Recovery Balm, because I consider it to be the most important global launch I have ever done for so many reasons, not least because of the intent behind the product; Reparative Moisture Emulsion, which I swear by; Hydro-Cool Serum because I will not travel without it and finally, their latest launch Retinol+ Emulsion 0.3 because Bryan and Alec made me eat humble pie regarding my views on retinol, but it was their retinol, and their retinol only.

Having written about safety in eye products above, many of you will know about Natucain’s Lash and Brow Serums, which we launched about two years ago. I was on one of my missions at that time, because together with Sarah Stacey we had been campaigning about the safety of lash and brow serums for more than a decade. I always link Sarah’s campaigning article whenever I write about the Lash and Brow serums, so I am going to do that once more because it would be irresponsible not to and it remains as important as it ever was. And with that said, I am discounting Natucain’s Lash and Brow Serums by 20%.

With that written, I am now going to do a recap of the Black Friday offers we sent out this week, with some added words. Here we go:
I seem to be having a love fest today, but as I wrote last weekend, there is a very special place in my heart for the brands we have launched, they are in our DNA and nobody can take that away from us, although many have tried. That story will be told at another time, and perhaps in another place, but let’s talk about Lanolips. I was so excited to launch this brand in the UK, I knew it was different, I knew it would make waves and I knew that people would sit up and take notice. And they did, they absolutely did and although 101 remains the hero, their range of products is now extensive, so with a 30% discount across the brand, I invite you to explore Lanolips.
Staying on theme, let me also invite you to explore Ilapothecary, which is also in our DNA. Most specifically I think that Beat The Blues Room Spray is mostly in our DNA here because from the very beginning Beat The Blues was the hero product and nothing has changed. It is used and loved by its followers and many use it as a personal fragrance, which doesn’t surprise me at all because it is uplifting and somewhat evocative of our emotions. But of course, it’s not only about Beat The Blues, there are many wonderful products in the range, including Feminine Happy Oil, so with a 25% discount across Ilapothecary, perhaps you may wish to take a look.
This next offer is fairly straightforward, but it does have a twist. We are offering a 30% discount across all of the Aurelia London products, but if you spend over £50 or more on one order, we will include Aurelia’s hero product, Miracle Cleanser (30 ml), which is worth £15, as a gift with purchase, whilst stock lasts. As I am writing ahead of this week’s offers being released, I don’t have the current stats, but I am assuming that the gift is still available because I know only too well what will happen to me if it isn’t. Let’s leave it there. With one more Black Friday offer to recap.
Aurelia London Products
And that offer is from Zooki. With an extensive range of products, Zooki has many followers and because I know that these offers really mean a lot to so many, there is a 20% discounted offer across the brand. That’s all I want to say really, and although I wrote this at the top of the newsletter, let me just reiterate that all of our Black Friday offers will end at midnight GMT tomorrow, Sunday 26 November and we are not sending anything out on Monday, which is Cyber Monday. By then it all seems rather desperate to me.
There is life outside of Black Friday offers, so let’s look at a few more things which help to make a difference and I’m going to begin with Silversocks. Many of you will remember when I last wrote about Silversocks, it was in January, we were in the depths of winter, it was dark, wet and miserable and our feet were cold. So, because I like being ahead of myself, I’m not waiting until January to write about Silversocks, because who knows what will happen with the weather and the other thing to say here is that they make a perfect Christmas gift. I promise, I’m being serious here because if somebody gave me a pair of Silversocks, I would love them forever.
And the reason why I would love them forever is because Silversocks are thermodynamic, which means they keep feet warm in winter and cool in summer. They also help remove the causes of foot odour and help destroy the feet producing bacteria. Every fibre is coated in silver and Silversocks offer relief for those suffering from conditions, such as epidermolysis bullosa, diabetes, circulation problems and chilblains. Silversocks were developed to meet the needs of patients of Great Ormond Street Hospital and they are specifically designed for anyone that suffers from excessively sweaty feet. Bravo Silversocks. I love you.
Silversocks Size 3-7 £12.50; Silversocks Size 6-11 £12.50
But I’m not quite finished yet because I want to tell you about another sock in the range and it is the Silversock Trainer Sock. This specifically designed sock has all the attributes of the Silversock, but it is perfect for sports and exercise. Like Silversocks, the textile fibres within the sock have been completely coated with pure silver and as such it is a high performance sock which is thermodynamic, anti-static, anti-odour and antimicrobial. The X-Static silver within the sock is permanently and irreversibly bonded and it will not wash off or diminish in effectiveness for the lifetime of the sock. Sounds rather good to me if you train. I don’t, but I suppose I should.
Silversock Trainer Sock Size 2-6 £12.50; Silversock Trainer Sock Size 6-12 £12.50
And if we are talking about feet, let us continue with an article from Shabir about warts and verrucas. Warts are small protrusions or raised lumps, which are caused by a viral infection often arising as a result of a compromised immune system. The virus normally associated with the occurrent of warts is the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), there are over 100 types of HPV viruses and usually each one is responsible for the formation of a specific wart in different parts of the body. It is estimated that the majority of the population has been exposed to this virus at some point in their lives.
There are many different types of warts ranging from the common wart, verruca vulgaris, to genital warts and they are highly contagious, which is why we always recommend L-Lysine for the treatment of warts as Lysine inhibits viral replication by the uptake of arginine, a major ‘food source’ for the virus to multiply. There are several methods for the treatment of warts, but we recommend Forwarts Wart Remover Precision Freeze Spray, which is an at-home medical device which sprays a measured jet of cooling gas to freeze the wart right to its core. And that is what really matters here.
VH Editorial: Treatment Of Warts and Verrucas; L-Lysine HCI by Lamberts £12.95 for 120 Tablets (drops from £14.95); Forwarts Wart Remover Precision Freeze Spray by Pronova £16 for 35 ml (drops from £17.89)
Right, let’s talk about seasonal gifts. I know I went very early on our seasonal gifts, but as I said at the time, each of these gifts were limited edition gifts and I didn’t know how long they would last. With reference to TEMPLESPA, their Advent Calendar sold out in October and Restitude, has also sold out, neither of which surprise me because no matter how many we order, the same thing happens every year, which speaks volumes.
We are constantly updating this section of our site, so once these gifts have gone, they have really gone, with certain exceptions such as Spacemasks and the Fulvic products. So, whilst some of these are no longer available, I have actually added some more products to that section, namely SilverSocks because of the words I have written above and the two Starter Eye Kits from Peep Club because these really are a gift for our eyes, and on that note I may as well include the Eye Rescue Lidstick, so I’ve just done that as I put a link to all seasonal gifts below this.
But, I’m not quite finished yet. A couple of weeks ago I wrote about splitting a box of Spacemasks in order that you may give a single mask to many. At that time, I said that for every box of Spacemasks sold, I would automatically include another single Spacemask, meaning that you had six individual gifts, instead of five. I’m going to do the same again, mostly because I love sharing, but also because it was a limited time offer and because so many of you loved it, I am doing it again this weekend. In line with all offers, this offer will end at midnight GMT tomorrow, Sunday 26 November. Hello Harriet, I’m writing the VH awards soon.
One final paragraph on products, so let it be about the product which I believe we should have in our medicine cabinets. That product is of course Triple Flu Defense+ and I know that many of you have this remarkable tincture, but for those who don’t, you may want to take a look at this because this homeopathic remedy helps to combat infective viruses and it also helps relieve the symptoms of flu and colds. There are so many viruses floating around at the moment and we are all susceptible, no matter what. I don’t have a virus, but I’ve decided to take the maintenance dose as a precautionary measure. Seems sensible to me.
Triple Flu Defense+ (2023-2024) by Dr Nenninger £30 for 30 ml
As predicted last weekend, Lara was sitting by the side of my bed with her laptap as I opened my eyes after my anaesthetic. The first thing she said was that the BF HA offer wouldn't last much longer, and it didn't, so just to confirm that HA Capsules now joins the other VH supplements with a 15% discount until midnight GMT tomorrow, in line with all other offers.

On a personal note, I had another one of my emotional moments as she sat and read each of your emails to me for which I thank you. And just perhaps, for once, I don't have the words to describe the depth of those emotions except to say that I can't imagine a world where we didn't have each other. Words are music.
