Gill Meets Kinvara Balfour

Gill Meets Kinvara Balfour

Kinvara Balfour is a writer, advisor and trendhawk, and is regarded as a leading authority on what’s hot (and what’s not) in the world of fashion, beauty and popular culture.

Having worked on publications including Telegraph Magazine, Vogue andDailyCandy.com, she acts as a consultant and young advocate to companies around the world. Kinvara is currently developing a fashion-based TV series in USA. She is an ambassador for Phylia de M.

How did you discover Phylia de M.?

I met the founder, Kazu Namise, through our mutual – and wonderful – friend, Mia Fenwick, when I first moved to LA five years ago. It was friendship, respect and connection at first sight.

Why did you decide to become a Brand Ambassador for Phylia de M. and what does this role entail?

When Kazu asked me to be an ambassador for the brand, I was thrilled. I am happy to be able to spread the Phylia de M. word wherever I go, and that’s not out of duty, but genuine enthusiasm and passion for the brand because it works. Like everyone, I’ve tried a gamut of products in the past and this is the only one I have found that has made a visible difference to my health (and, consequently, my happiness). Now I want to share it with as many people as I can because I believe it will change their lives just a little bit, too.

What is your life philosophy?

To treat others as I would like to be treated; to refrain from gossip; to keep it simple; and to strive to be right-sized and regard myself as no better than, and no less than, anyone else.

This month we launch Fulphyl, the latest product release from Phylia de M., onto the global market. What was your first reaction when you were told about Fulphyl?

It was one of huge excitement and hope. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a bottle. Or ten.

How long have you been taking Fulphyl and how has it made a difference to you?

I’ve been taking it daily for three months now. I feel notably more powerful and energetic, and my immune system is stronger and more reliable than it has been for years. I haven’t had a serious cough or a cold for all of that time which is a miracle, especially as I work hard and play hard – like absolutely everyone else I know – and travel so much. My skin is clearer, my hair thicker, my energy levels higher and my sleep deeper and much more consistent.

If there was one message that you would want the world to know about Fulphyl, what would that be?

That it works. Period.

The Phylia de M three step hair care system continues to make a dramatically positive difference to thousands of people. What is your personal experience with Clean, Condition and Connect?

For me, the products have resulted in noticeable hair growth and thicker hair. Even my colourist, the brilliant Josh Wood, commented on the improvement of my hair and scalp – and he sees heads all over the world. And because the products are so clean and of such pure quality, I have found that I need to wash my hair less often than before.

Your hero product?

I cannot live without the Connect spray. Not only does it encourage hair growth when used on the scalp, it also spruces up an old blow-dry. I spray it on my hair three or four days after a session with the hairdryer (sometimes carried out by me but usually better carried out by my friends at Drybar in West Hollywood or Josh Wood Atelier in London) and I get an extra one or two days of soft, thick hair in return. I binned the dreaded dry shampoo long ago.

How important is it to you that the Phylia de M products have a sound scientific background?

When Kazu explained the science behind Fulphyl, I was fascinated – and that doesn’t usually happen with me and science. But the wisdom behind fulvic acid and what it does for the soil and the body is compelling, to say the least. I believe it will be one of the most influential health ingredients of the next decade.

If you could write the future for Phylia de M, what would it look like?

It would include Kazu, Gill and Kinvara – and thousands of others – and would involve strength, courage, health and unbounded happiness.
