Weekend Read 3 October 2020

Weekend Read 3 October 2020

In my passion for the truth, across all things, I would like to begin this Weekend Read by sharing a few things with each of you as we continue to take each day as it comes. I have long held the vision that we are all in this together and whatever that looks like, I remain steadfast in my belief that supporting and sharing is paramount.  As is so often the case, adversity can bring us closer and I think that is certainly true as we continue this journey together.  It is by overcoming adversity that I strongly believe we can begin to find the peace and understanding that our souls yearn for.

So, if I may, in full transparency, I think it is very obvious what we have been doing over the past six months or so.  We have lived through many recessions, but the current global economic climate is of course extraordinarily worrying and it is in the recognition of ongoing difficulties that we will try to do the very best we can to help support you.  It comes with a compassionate understanding of financial difficulties, I’ve been there, and I suppose in some way these experiences drive me to offer as many treats and gifts as we possibly can each week, until (and if) we reach famine territory.  So let’s continue to do it.

Over the past two or three weeks, I have been writing about Triple Flu Defense+, a homeopathic remedy to help combat infective viruses and to also help relieve the symptoms of flu and colds.  This remedy is reformulated each year to best match the various strains and symptoms using CDC, WHO and patient data.  It also happens to be one of our bestselling products since we launched the 2020-2021 version.  No surprises there.

Being as it is, I am once again doing my Covid-19 caveat, which is that Triple Flu is not a miraculous solution in either preventing or curing Covid-19. What it will do is help reduce the severity of symptoms of most other infections including body aches, headaches, sore throats, coughs, congestion, fevers, nausea, diarrhoea and to some extent, fatigue.  And at this moment, that is enough for me.

Before I could write one word about a treat, I had to ensure that the stock levels were adequate, both now and going forward, for Triple Flu and I did a jump of joy when I discovered they possibly were.  Shabir looked on in abject horror as I started to do a ritualistic product availability dance.  He despairs of me, that much I know.  Never mind that, but because of the strong efficacy and demand for Triple Flu, I have created a twin-pack.  The price of Triple Flu is £27, so two bottles would be £54, except for today only (Saturday 3 October) I am reducing the price to £45 for the twin-pack, with a saving of £9.

I sincerely hope I have my stock calculations correct, if I haven’t please don’t scream at me. This offer will end at midnight BST tonight. So that’s one for you.  And another for a friend in need perhaps.  You do need to click on the Twin Pack link below, otherwise it could all go horribly wrong and Shabir will blame me.  And I’ll be sent to the naughty corner.  Again.

Two new products.  A variation on a theme. And the theme is Magnesium Oil Flakes. I have waited nearly three years for these to appear, but they are finally here and I think you are going to like them rather a lot. The first, Magnesium Sleep Bath Flakes, are a relaxing blend of Zechstein magnesium, Lavender and Chamomile.  These flakes were formulated to help soothe tired and aching muscles in preparation for sleep.

May I suggest that if you are having difficulty in sleeping, which is happening to so many of us, then do use these flakes in conjunction with Herbal Sleep PM.  Shabir recommended. And why not pop on a Spacemask as you get into bed. They send you. Who knows where to, but I’d rather be ‘sent’ than stay awake for hours.
Magnesium Sleep Bath Flakes by Better You £9.95 for 1 kg; Herbal Sleep PM £20 for 30 Capsules; Spacemasks £15 for Five Masks

And now, Magnesium Muscle Bath Flakes. Once again, using a base of Zechstein magnesium, these flakes are infused with essential oils of Lemon and Rosemary.  Better You suggest that they should be used after exercising, but they will also help reinvigorate a tired body, regardless, and give muscle relief, which can only be a good thing.  Another good thing would be to strategically place a Healing Patch if you are aching or in pain.  You can sleep through the night with a patch on, which I know so many of you do.  The relief they give is pretty phenomenal.  And I’m all over phenomenal products.  Always have been.

Vaginal dryness is one of those health concerns that not many people want to talk about, which is completely understandable. However it is such a common health concern that it needs to be addressed and so address it we will. I will do this by referring you to an archived video where Trinny and Shabir talked all about the menopause, including vaginal dryness. That said, you don’t have to be menopausal, vaginal dryness can affect us at any age. There are notes underneath the video link, but do watch it if you can. It makes a change from trawling through Netflix.  Although I did think The Fall was rather good.  Off subject.  As ever.

You may well remember that a few weeks ago I mentioned there would be a new iS Clinical launch. It gives me enormous pleasure to tell you that once again I am doing the UK exclusive launch. I have been testing it for rather a long time, but then I am a custodian of the brand (actually make that ‘the’ custodian) and I have a serious iS Clinical habit, ongoing from about twenty years ago.  So many of you are on the iS Clinical journey with me, and I think you may well be delighted as I tell you about their very first anti-ageing formula for the body.  Yes, the body.

So please allow me to introduce you to Youth Body Serum, which is a refreshing lightweight serum mist.  It gently absorbs into the skin providing powerful hydration and antioxidant protection against environment aggressors.  Blended with the purest form of Hyaluronic Acid, potent extracts of Watermelon, Blue Micro Algae, Liquorice Root and Holy Herb, these ingredients are joined with Vitamin B5 and iS Clinical’s proprietary Extremozymes to create this unique formulation. And of course it is backed with clinical research and studies. I would expect nothing less from my LA boyfriends, but then I would trust them with my life, let alone my skin.  And that’s a big statement.

Delivering on promise, as they always do, iS Clinical products continue to be exceptional and Youth Body Serum is just that, exceptional. Because it is a mist, a little goes a very long way and if any of us should ever see the sun again, it is also perfect for post-sun exposure. And by way of a treat, a launch offer.  For a limited time only, and whilst stocks last, when you buy Youth Body Serum, we will automatically include a travel size version of Youth Body Serum, which is worth £24.  This will not show up on your order confirmation or invoice and I also know that nobody is really travelling.  Never mind that.  A treat is a treat.
Youth Body Serum by iS Clinical £98 for 200 ml (Including A Free Youth Body Serum (15 ml) Worth £24 Whilst Stock Lasts)

If you are going to do it, then do it in style is what I think.  So I’m overloading the treats this week.  I’ll probably regret it in a few weeks if I don’t have anything to share with you, but I’ll take it as it comes as I tell you that with any order of £15 and over for any Derma E products, we will automatically include a free Vitamin E Lavender & Neroli Therapeutic Moisture Shea Hand Cream (56 grams) worth £9.95.  I suppose there will be the inevitable rush for the bestselling Vitamin C Bright Eyes Hydro Gel Patches, so the caveats are that there is only gift per customer and I am not too sure that this offer will last until the end of today.  Gently does it. ** Sorry this promotion has now ended **

And on the subject of hands, we rely on our hands for so many different activities.  We take our hands for granted until we experience pain and our normal activities are hindered.  Much the same way as when we cut a finger, for example.  We plaster-up, but the ‘throb’ really hurts.  There are several common problems associated with hand pain.  These include Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow, Trigger Finger and Osteoarthritis.  In an archived article, Shabir takes a look at each of these concerns, recommending several natural remedies to help achieve pain-free hands.

Roll out those headlines, and they are certainly rolling again as the media goes flat-out on the importance of taking Vitamin D3.  I am not going to do the sensational headlines, but I think that having written about the importance of taking Vitamin D3 over the past ten years, I will just put it here that it would be a very good thing to take, if you can, to help safeguard your immunity.  We recommend either DLux 3000 or DLux 4000 by Better You, and there are of course versions for infants and juniors.  All listed below.
DLux 3000 Spray £7.95 for 15 ml; DLux 4000 Daily Oral Spray £9.95 for 15 ml; DLux Infant Vitamin D Oral Spray £5.95 for 15 ml; DLux Junior Vitamin D Oral Spray £6.25 for 15 ml

Last week, I led the Weekend Read with Shabir’s article on Inflammaging. If you missed it, I am linking it again below as inflammation is of course the root cause of so many health concerns.  Aside from recommending Curcumin Elite Turmeric Extract, Shabir also spoke of the importance of taking a broad-spectrum probiotic in that article. Because I like to back everything up, I am also linking Shabir’s article on probiotics, also below, which digs deep into targeted probiotics.  No known famine on Mega Probiotic ND as I write this, which is the probiotic I have taken forever and a day.  We have it covered.

I am often writing about Astaxanthin, so I thought I would let you know that Viridian Nutrition have just released a Vegan Astaxanthin supplement. It is sourced from fresh water microalgae (Haematococcus pluvialis), which is one of the richest sources of natural Astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is a brilliant and powerful antioxidant which helps protect our cellular membranes, as well as helping to support cardiovascular health, brain health and function, together with several age-related challenges.

Can we talk about dosing please. The dosing of products. After last weekend, I think most of you now have a bottle of Neurophroline in your bathroom. So a suggestion for you. You can of course use it neat as a serum, but I always dose my moisturiser with Neurophroline and so does Lisa Armstrong, whose article I featured last week.

But don’t stop there. You can also dose your body lotion because actually why should we have stressed-out skin anywhere.  And on body lotions.  Be prepared, there is something very exciting coming soon.  Maybe next week. Lips sealed. For the moment.  And in case you wondered, I dose into Fulvic Face Cream. Not sure what Shabir does.  Secretly I think he uses far more skincare products than I do.  Volumes.
Neurophroline by GoW For VH £18 for 60 ml; Fulvic Face Cream £30 for 60 ml

One more article before the wrap, the rather long wrap, but never mind that.  It seems to go with the territory these days. Anyway, the article is all about sugar substitutes.  This comes on the back of the extraordinary demand for Yacon Syrup, which thankfully is still in stock. Shabir writes about artificial sweeteners, amongst other things, and recommends Organic Palmyra Tree Blossom Sugar, which contains over 15 vitamins and minerals. It is Gluten Free and suitable for Vegans.  You can also bake a cake with it.  Into the kitchen we go. For the love of food.

And now, the Saturday only treat. With every order placed today (Saturday 3 October) for £25 and over (excluding p&p) we will be gifting you Fulvic Acid Mist (60 ml).  I always feel compelled to write about Fulvic, mostly because I am a die-hard advocate of all things Fulvic as you well know.

So the Fulvic Acid Mist has a plethora of uses, which include its use as a scalp treatment, a nail treatment (spray over Fulvic Nail or as a standalone) and I have been spraying it on my skin after cleansing for the longest time. It also has the ability to help heal wounds, such as cuts and grazes. This will not show up on your order confirmation or invoice, and this treat is only available whilst stock lasts.

As we come to the final section of the Weekend Read, I just have to acknowledge and thank those of you who continue to send emails about your own experiences regarding mental health, bullying and the darkness of social media.  It has made me think long and hard about how we can continue to support each other and I think I may have a small solution.  But first, more words.

For this week, if I may, just a few things and I think one of the most important things to discuss is that although the depths of our respective experiences are monumentally difficult, and that’s an under-statement, we should try our hardest not to become bitter and twisted. I know words are very easy, but being vindictive only brings more hurt and we can destroy ourselves in the process. I will give nobody the pleasure of my own self-destruction. I certainly know from my experiences that the bullying attacks were set upon an agenda to destroy me and VH. They didn’t succeed then, and they won’t succeed now.

Furthermore, if we look at karma, then karma is actually an act of balance. It is not vindictive in nature and neither should it be. I find it interesting that when the balance comes, it is often from a completely unexpected source, but the balance is given nevertheless. I know it takes an awful lot of trust because sometimes it can be many years before the balance appears. I have a rock-solid belief and trust that it does, I have seen it in others and I have seen it myself.  That said, we are only human and our human emotions can sometimes be so incredibly overwhelming, we can barely breathe, let alone function.

I honestly believe that the VH mission of trying to make a positive difference to each of your lives, extends far beyond the recommendation of products. I have touched on this briefly at the top of this bulletin and I have written similar words over the past few months and years.  It is with this thought, and belief, that I extend an invitation to each of you to email me directly, if you so wish.  In so doing we are creating a further safe space, which is of course a cathartic release and from the emails I have received to date, sorely needed.

I certainly don’t have all the answers, far from it, and I do not wish to use this space for product recommendations.  It is, in its own way, a sacred space between us.  And I would like to keep it that way.  So my personal email is gill@www.victoriahealth.com, which I suppose was pretty obvious.  I am here.  I am not going anywhere for the foreseeable future, but then none of us are.

Together with Shabir, Lara and the entire VH team, I give continued thanks and love for your loyalty and support.

Thank you.

Gill x
