Hello. So Shabir said to me a few days ago that I was going to burn myself out. I thought that might be interesting for each of you to watch, not least my children, as I began to muse about turning into a firework (a Roman Candle perhaps). And the reason. Basically because I overload these missives with gifts and treats, and he said I couldn’t possibly keep it up on an ongoing basis. Loving a challenge, as I do, I have every intention of keeping it up as long as I can, so let’s do it. Again.
I am so excited. Actually beyond excited if that’s possible. And the reason is because I am just about to launch another new product from Ross J. Barr. As most you will have read, we launched his Fertility and Pregnancy formulations a couple of weeks ago. At that time, I told you there was something else coming. And they have arrived. And they are a dream. And there is a story. Of course.
I’m not going to dwell, but about a year ago my back went into spasm and I couldn’t walk. At one point I was flat-out on the floor writhing in agony and if you suffer with back pain, you will know exactly what I’m talking about. At the first opportunity I got myself an emergency appointment with Ross where somehow or other I crawled onto his bed and he worked his magic with his acupuncture needles. At the end of the session he slapped two patches on my back, one each side and the relief was almost immediate. He told me that they would give pain relief for up to six hours. Which they did, but I wanted more. Except he only had one left, so I stole it.
Because of their brilliance, I obviously wanted an entire stash of them. I knew you would want them too, so please allow me to introduce you to the very miraculous Healing Patches. These skin patches were formulated by Ross to help relieve all forms of aches and pains and can also be used to help ease menstrual pain. They are loaded with Safflower and Clove to help promote blood flow; Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and Borneol further helps inflammation and pain.
There are times when I think that every home should have a certain product in their medicine cabinet and that is certainly true of these wondrous Healing Patches. I mean even if you have a slight twinge, just slap on a patch and maybe you could be saved from further pain. And before you ask, yes, they help with headaches too. Thank you Ross. You are my hero. Heaven sent. The patches and the man.
Healing Patches by Ross J. Barr £15 for Five Patches
I am sure that most of you will have seen the ramping up of articles about Vitamin D. They are everywhere you look. It has now been reported that the government has ordered a review into whether Vitamin D can help Covid-19 as there is growing evidence that people with chronically low levels are at greater risk. Most specifically, The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) has been asked to look at the latest research which links vitamin deficiencies with poor outcomes. Having continually written and campaigned about Vitamin D deficiencies for over ten years, together with Andy Thomas of Better You, we uphold the view, as we always have, that we should all be taking Vitamin D3. Please join in, if you haven’t already done so. Except I’m almost sure most of you have.
DLux 3000 Spray £7.95 for 15 ml; DLux+ Vitamin D+K2 Spray £9.95 for 12 ml
Earlier this year, which actually seems like another era, we launched Broc-On to huge acclaim across the late lamented (ahem) monthly newsletter and the press. Over the past three months, I have of course thrown the focus on other things, but there is no getting away from it, these shots are truly brilliant, so we are doing a re-visit. Containing broccoli sprouts, kale sprouts and daikon sprouts, these shots also contain high concentrations of Glucosinolates and active Myrisonase. These two compounds provide Sulforaphane and Sulforaphene, which provide powerful health benefits to the body. You can read more about this on Shabir’s article, linked below and I am about to write about a treat. Because I can.
I have written so much about Fulvic Acid Elixir, but I shall continue because one of its greatest attributes is that it serves as an essential vehicle (a rocket perhaps) that carries vitamins and nutrients to the right place in our bodies by making cells more permeable to nutrients. In and of course itself, that makes Fulvic Acid Elixir incredibly powerful in its own right, but when you put Broc-On and Fulvic together, we are talking something else, as we supercharge ourselves to another level of health and wellbeing.
The treat. When you buy Broc-On, you will receive Fulvic Acid Elixir (480 ml) free, which is worth £30. Even if you do this regimen just for a month, I think you will feel the difference because I certainly do. I invite you to join me whilst stock lasts and before Shabir decides he wants to end it all. The offer, not our partnership. Although who knows anything these days. Come fly with me.
The Broc-On Treat £75 (Broc-On £75 for 30 Shots; Fulvic Acid Elixir £30 for 480 ml); Fulvic Acid Elixir £30 for 480 ml; The Incredible Benefits of Broccoli Sprouts
I’m rather enjoying this. Let’s do another treat. Are all multivitamins the same, pondered Shabir some time ago. No of course they are not. So he wrote an article about it, linked below. He has continually recommended Alive Ultra Potency Multivitamin, which so many of you now take. And whilst he immerses himself in the pleasure of having yet another one of his archived articles published again, I will quietly (not so quietly now) reduce the price by £5. So instead of being £29, it now becomes £24 until midnight GMT tonight (Saturday 27 June), or whilst stock lasts.
Alive Ultra Potency Multivitamin £24 for 60 Tablets (RRP £29); Are All Multivitamins The Same?
The heat is on. Well, as I write this, the promise of a heat wave is forecast, although heaven knows it will probably rain now I’ve written this. Regardless, would you believe that Maui Babe Browning Lotion came up as a top trending product in a recent Google Trends search as a tanning aid. Little Maui Babe. The love goes back a very long time because this is the product that helps accelerate the tanning process, which in turn eliminates long tanning hours and over-exposure to harmful UV rays.
It hails from Hawaii, it contains aloe, it is suitable for all skin types, it is water-resistant, but it is not a stain, self-tanner or bronzer. Most importantly it does not contain SPF, so you need to use it in conjunction with an SPF. Brilliant it is. And the After-Browning Lotion is pretty fabulous too. Memories of using it all those years ago in LA, where I discovered it, and then passing it round the entire pool area because everybody wanted to join in. Forever sharing. Forever Maui. Forever LA. If I ever get there again.
Maui Babe Browning Lotion £19.95 for 236 ml; Maui Babe After Browning Lotion £19.95 for 236 ml
Another drama. Each week I manage to lurch from one drama to another. And now it’s the turn of the Foot File. As you will have read last week, I wrote that a customer had asked if it came in a colour other than pink. It did. Dark Blue. It sold out. Sure, these things happen all the time. I then discovered that Dark Blue had been discontinued, so in effect if you managed to get one, you are now in possession of a very limited edition foot file. Fine. I ordered a stash of Black foot files. And now they are virtually gone too. I am now onto Metallic Green. However long they last. It would perhaps slip by unnoticed, except it just happens to be the best foot file in the world. By consensus. Follow it through with Basix Skin Defence Cream Foot Food. And sing. Tiptoe Through The Tulips. With me.
Foot File (Pink) £11.95; Foot File (Metallic Green) £11.95; Basix Skin Defence Cream Foot Food £15.95 for 50 ml
A new product launch from Ameliorate is always exciting. Most especially when it is a Limited Edition launch, which this is. So please allow me to introduce you to Illuminating Glow Transforming Body Lotion. Having all the benefits of the original Transforming Body Lotion, which was formulated for people with dry, dehydrated, bumpy skin, it did of course arrive in the world to help deal with Keratosis Pilaris (chicken skin) and ingrown hairs. Combining scents of coconut, lemon, orange, apricot, sandalwood and lotus, this Limited Edition leaves your skin glowing in a luminescent kind of way. Just one more thing to say; please don’t sit on your bed and apply this because it will go all over your sheets. It happened to me. I’m an idiot. But I did have glowing legs. Ending. Right. Now.
Illuminating Glow Transforming Body Lotion (Limited Edition) £22.50 for 200 ml
And yet another new product launch. This time from Viridian Nutrition. Peak Focus is a natural supplement to help support optimal concentration. It features clinically studied Organic Lemon Balm Extract to help maintain good cognitive function and scientifically researched Organic Sage Extract to help maintain optimal mental wellbeing, including concentration, attention and memory. The dosage is two daily and Viridian tell me that it works in one to two hours, therefore providing a positive impact almost immediately. Now that’s interesting.
Being totally transparent, I haven’t taken it yet, but I think I will before I write the next Weekend Read. That should be fun. Anyway, anyway, you may well get there before me because if you buy any Viridian product this weekend, or whilst stock lasts, we will automatically include a trial six-capsule pack of Peak Focus. Only one gift per customer and I’m starting to get excited about this. Perhaps I will no longer need to phone my mobile to find out where I left it and furthermore, I may remember where my car keys are. This didn’t happen when I was 29. Perhaps I still am. In my head. Shabir sighs heavily. Naturally.
Peak Focus £32.20 for 60 Capsules; Viridian
I feel bad. So bad. Just before Covid-19 hit in, we launched a new skincare brand, Willowberry. As so many of you know, it is a big deal for me to launch a skincare brand for any number of reasons, but basically because I am so damn fussy and I can see straight the way through hype. And then the pandemic arrived and I had no choice but to throw the focus on our health and wellbeing. Little else mattered in those initial dark moments; it wasn’t all about the products either, but more a sense that we all had to hold hands because none of us knew what the next day could bring. To some extent, we still don’t know, but little by little, some form of normality is returning.
So please, as we move forward, do take a look at the Willowberry products; they are simple, they work and in the midst of it all, a new product was released, Reviving Eye Cream. It contains an active blend of pomegranate extract, green tea, probiotics and caffeine to help even skin tone and can also be used as a base for concealer and foundation, if you are still wearing it. For the record, I’m not. And the bestselling product when we launched the brand, the Nutrient Boost Face Oil, which is suitable for all skin types. So a re-launch really. And I’m so happy to do this. Products of note.
Back to health and just a couple of lines about Selenium. Selenium plays a crucial role in the proper functioning of the immune system. It is required to signal cytokines, which are compounds that alarm your immune system to get to work, which I think is pretty crucial bearing in mind that everything is currently revolving around our immune system. Additionally, Selenium has been shown to help prevent viral mutation of many species (I’m obviously not talking Covid-19) and will also help prevent recurring infections. Shabir does the lowdown.
Super Selenium Complex by Life Extension £12 for 100 Capsules; Benefits of Selenium Supplements
Hold my hand. I think we are about to have a blow-out. When I started writing weekly, one of the first treats I wrote about was Fulvic Acid Nail Cream. I took the price down from £12 to £10; initially it was for a week, that week became a month and now it has been three months. Love you as I do, and several thousand tubes of Fulvic Acid Nail Cream later, I have to put the price back to £12. I’m not doing it today, I want to live. So I’ll keep it at £10 for the rest of this week and then put it back to its normal price of £12 next Friday. Go bash the keyboard. Whilst you can.
Fulvic Acid Nail Cream £10 for 30 ml
Time for the Saturday only treat. And it’s from Better You. As so many of you know we launched Better You back in the day and I have such fond memories of campaigning with Andy Thomas (Founder) on the benefits of magnesium. We did this at the very beginning of their inception and today Magnesium is extraordinarily well-known for its extensive health benefits.
I don’t think you can ever forget the early heroes and it is a tribute to its efficacy that the fabulous Magnesium Oil Original Flakes are still in high demand. So with every order of £20 or over today, and whilst stocks last, we will automatically include a 250 gm bag of Magnesium Flakes. Add them to your bath to help soothe tired and aching muscles, or use them in a footbath. I’m sure that by the time you read this I could well be in the midst of another drama, it goes with the territory, so no need to email me because it won’t show up on your order confirmation or invoice and I could well be driving. Round the bend.
Magnesium Oil Original Flakes by Better You £9.95 for 1 Kg
With hairdressers about to re-open next weekend, all things being equal, Jane Cunningham writes an essay about lockdown hair. The life and times of. We all have our stories; mine extends to cutting my fringe about three or four times with nail scissors. Hair despair, she has called it, lest we ever forget. And there is also this thing about the relaxation of ‘beauty rules’. We could be relaxed forever. Most of my friends tend to agree. Over to Jane.
Hair We Come by Jane Cunningham
Finally, wishing you a restful weekend and my personal thanks for all your wonderful emails.
If all goes according to plan, next weekend could be rather interesting.
Let it be.
